Jody Forester Jackson
Although wage theft cases make up most of Mr. Jackson’s current caseload, he has an extensive legal background and a wide-ranging practice area.
Prior to entering the field of civil law, he gained prosecutorial experience at New Orleans’ Criminal District Court. As a civil litigator, Mr. Jackson practices in the field of employment law representing workers who have experienced wage disputes, retaliation and wrongful termination, as well as employment discrimination and harassment while on the job. Mr. Jackson has handled cases ranging from personal injury and auto accidents, contract disputes and construction law to highly specialized Federal Employers’ Liability Act work, and has also had experience in business litigation and other general litigation matters.
Mr. Jackson obtained his law degree from Loyola School of Law, graduating in the top of his class. During his time at Loyola, he was active in the Loyola Law Clinic and worked closely with the assistant district attorneys at New Orleans’ Criminal District Court. He obtained his undergraduate degree from the University of Alabama.
Mr. Jackson is admitted to the Louisiana Bar and the Alabama Bar. He is also admitted to practice in the United States District Courts for the Northern and Southern Districts of Alabama and the Eastern, Middle and Western Districts of Louisiana, the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit, and has practiced law in cases filed in the District of Columbia, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Massachusetts, Pennsylvania, North Carolina, South Carolina, Texas, Virginia and West Virginia.
Mr. Jackson is a member of the Louisiana State Bar Association, the Alabama Bar Association, the New Orleans Bar Association, the Federal Bar Association, the Academy of New Orleans Trial Lawyers and the Louisiana Association for Justice. He is also a member in the New Orleans Chapter of the Alabama Alumni Association, the Loyola Law Alumni Association and is a co-founder and committee member of the Loyola New Orleans Young Law Alumni Association. He has been a speaker and continuing education provider for the Home Builders Association of Greater New Orleans. Mr. Jackson is active with the local Humane Society and Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.
Mary Bubbett Jackson
Mary Bubbett Jackson joined Jackson+Jackson as a member in 2011.
Prior to joining Jackson+Jackson, she was an associate at Stone Pigman Walther Wittmann, LLC, where she practiced in the areas of construction, employment, insurance and products liability law. While at Stone Pigman, Ms. Jackson administered claims for a multi-state class action, tried high dollar cases and was heavily involved in Katrina-related litigation.
Ms. Jackson graduated summa cum laude from Loyola University School of Law, where she was a member of the Loyola Law Review, the Moot Court National Team and St. Thomas More Inn of Court. She received her undergraduate degree, magna cum laude, from the University of Alabama. She is admitted to the Louisiana State Bar, the Florida State Bar, the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth and Eleventh Circuits, and the United States District Courts for the Eastern, Middle and Western Districts of Louisiana and Northern District of Florida. She is also a licensed notary in Louisiana and Florida.
Ms. Jackson is a member of the American Bar Association, the Louisiana State Bar Association and the New Orleans Bar Association. She is the former chairperson of the New Orleans Bar Association’s Women in the Profession Committee. In addition, Ms. Jackson is a committee member of the Loyola New Orleans Young Law Alumni Association.
